Why SoundPost Bridge?

Most mid-to-large associations move data from their AMS, event, and commerce systems into the general ledger through file exports and imports. The process works, but it is brittle: mappings break, month-end allocations and adjustments are entered manually, and the reports finance needs (A/R, deferred revenue, sales activity and forecasts) are spread across multiple systems and spreadsheets, slow to assemble, and unreliable. SoundPost Bridge replaces that workflow with API-based integration, automated revenue recognition, automated allocations, consolidated reporting, and built-in reconciliation across Sage Intacct, Business Central, and QuickBooks.

Who is SoundPost Bridge built for?
SoundPost Bridge is built for professional and trade associations that run an association management system alongside a separate accounting system and need to automate the flow of transactions between them. The platform is designed for finance teams managing membership dues, event revenue, training, sponsorships, and other deferred revenue streams. Typical users include associations in the $5M to $50M+ revenue range with lean finance staff and complex revenue models.
What systems does SoundPost Bridge integrate with?

SoundPost Bridge integrates with association management systems including Aptify, Wicket, and GrowthZone MemberSuite; event registration platforms including Pheedloop; e-commerce platforms including WooCommerce; and accounting systems including Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, QuickBooks Online, and QuickBooks Desktop. Additional connectors are added on a regular basis. SoundPost is an official Sage Intacct Marketplace partner.

How does SoundPost Bridge automate deferred revenue recognition for associations?
SoundPost Bridge generates deferred revenue schedules automatically for membership dues, event registrations, training, sponsorships, and advertising. Recognition logic is configured per product based on the association's accounting policies, supporting both period-based deferrals (such as dues recognized monthly over a membership term) and fixed-date deferrals (such as sponsorships recognized at event delivery). Schedules tie to GL control accounts, and recognized and deferred balances are reportable as of any date.
How does SoundPost Bridge handle reconciliation between an AMS and the accounting system?
SoundPost Bridge maintains traceability between source-system transactions and the general ledger by ingesting orders, payments, refunds, and adjustments at the transaction level, applying GL and dimensional mapping, and posting structured journal entries. Built-in reporting compares expected balances (such as A/R aging and deferred revenue schedules from the source system) against posted GL activity, flagging variances. This shifts reconciliation from a month-end discovery exercise to ongoing validation throughout the period.
How is SoundPost Bridge different from a generic iPaaS like Workato or Zapier?
SoundPost Bridge is purpose-built for association accounting, not a general-purpose integration platform. Tools like Workato and Zapier move data between systems but require customers to design the accounting logic themselves: revenue recognition rules, deferred revenue schedules, GL and dimensional mapping, reconciliation. SoundPost Bridge ingests transaction-level data from AMS and commerce systems, applies association-specific accounting logic, generates journal-ready entries with deferred revenue scheduling, and reconciles balances back to source subledgers.
How long does a SoundPost Bridge implementation take?
SoundPost Bridge implementations typically take 6 to 12 weeks from kickoff to go-live for standard configurations on existing connectors. Complex multi-system deployments with custom GL mapping, dimensional structures, or new source-system connector development extend toward the upper end of that range. The implementation follows three phases: discovery, configuration, and launch. Source system data quality, chart of accounts complexity, and finance team availability for UAT are the primary timeline drivers.
Does SoundPost Bridge replace our accounting system?
No. SoundPost Bridge does not replace an organization's accounting system. It connects operational systems such as the AMS, event registration, and e-commerce platforms to the existing general ledger in Sage Intacct, Business Central, or QuickBooks. SoundPost Bridge transforms source-system transactions into journal-ready entries, posts them to the accounting system, and provides reconciliation and reporting on the data flowing between systems. The accounting system remains the official financial record.
How does SoundPost Bridge work with enterprise AMS platforms such as Aptify and GrowthZone MemberSuite?
SoundPost Bridge supplements AMS platforms that function as accounting subledgers, including Aptify, iMIS, and similar systems. It ingests transaction data such as orders, payments, scheduled transactions, and adjustments, applies GL and dimensional mapping, and generates journal-ready entries with automated revenue recognition and deferred revenue scheduling. SoundPost Bridge operates independently of the AMS's native batch processing, supports reconciliation between the AMS subledger and the general ledger, and consolidates reporting across the AMS and other connected commerce systems.
How does SoundPost Bridge work with event registration and e-commerce platforms without native accounting functionality like Pheedloop and WooCommerce?
SoundPost Bridge constructs the accounting subledger for commerce platforms that capture transactions but do not maintain A/R, deferred revenue, or recognition schedules natively, including Pheedloop, WooCommerce, and similar event registration, e-commerce, LMS, and fundraising tools. It ingests registration, sponsorship, donation, and order data, applies GL and dimensional mapping, generates journal-ready entries with deferred revenue scheduling tied to delivery dates, and produces A/R aging and deferred revenue reporting that reconciles to the general ledger.
